Amos Howard's Restaurant & Brew Pub

Ok, call me biased since this is my home town pub, but who can resist the charm of drinking your favorite brew in one of their barrel booths?

The true beer lover will appreciate their options at Amos Howard's.  Whether you want to sample some of their very own Old Hickory Brewery selections on draught, or sample from their wide varity of microbrews and international flavors.  Craft beer lovers will enjoy Firkin Fridays, when they tap a cask-conditioned ale and sample it.

Beyond the brew, Amos Howard has a great menu that is sure to please both carnivores and vegetarians alike.  My personal favorite is the roasted red pepper hummus with pita points.

Bottom line - it is a great place to dine or hang with friends.  If you are in Hickory, it is worth a visit!

Fat Tire - Amber Ale

I recently had the chance to try this tasty brew for the first time when I visited some friends in Raleigh, NC.  To say that it is a quality beverage lacks the true impact, but perhaps knowing that we cleared out the entire inventory on hand, much to our dismay, might demonstrate my point.

Fat Tire is a product of the New Belgium Brewing Company out of Fort Collins, CO.  If you get the chance, I highly recommend getting your hands on some.  You won't regret it.

Here is what the brewer has to say about it: "Fat Tire won fans is in its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness."  Translation = yum!

The Magic Hat brand has a vibe as fun and unique as their "elixors."  They have a great selection of flavors available year round, as well as fun seasonal selections.  Not sure which one you will like best?  Pick up a variety pack.  If you are up in South Burlington, VT, be sure to stop by the brewery.
